Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Light House Project in the Dhurwa area of Ranchi on Sunday. The foundation stone for the project was laid by the Prime Minister through video conferencing on January 1, 2021. Under the Light House Project (LHP), 1,008 houses have been built at affordable rates for the poor and middle-class people. Each flat has a carpet area of approximately 315 square feet. The project has been developed on 7.5 acres of land at a cost of 134 crore rupees.

Nagarnigam Nideshalaya Director Aditya Kumar Anand stated that in a program in Ranchi, keys to homes were distributed to 10 beneficiaries as part of token distribution. He mentioned that all beneficiaries of housing units will be provided accommodation in a phased manner by April. The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) had shortlisted the names of beneficiaries through a lottery system.
