Police Arrested Youth for ATM Fraud in Gopalganj
In a joint operation in New Friends Colony area of Gopalganj’s police station area, Kerala and local police conducted a raid together. The police have arrested a youth involved in fraudulently withdrawing Rs 1.25 crore from an ATM. The accused has been identified as Ashok Tiwari, a resident of Gopalpur Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh.
Arrest Made Based on Complaint Filed in Kerala
Four months ago, a complaint was filed against the accused for fraudulently withdrawing Rs 1.25 crore from an ATM by the manager of a cooperative bank in Kottayam district of Kerala. Based on this complaint, the Kerala police reached Gopalganj for the arrest of the youth after a technical investigation. With the help of the local police station and the DIU team, a raid was conducted in New Friends Colony.
Accused Arrested in a Rented House
During the raid, the accused, who was living in a rented house in Friends Colony, was arrested by the police. The arrested accused is now in the process of being taken to Kerala by the Kerala police. The SHO Omprakash Chauhan stated that the accused involved in the ATM fraud of Rs 1.25 crore has been arrested after a joint raid.
Accused Claims Innocence
The accused claimed to be in the transport business and was living in a rented house in Friends Colony. When questioned, he stated that he works in transport. A year ago, the owner of the transport had given him 10 ATM cards and asked him to withdraw five lakh rupees and transfer it in another account. Now, the bank is accusing him of fraudulently withdrawing Rs 1.25 crore from the ATM, leading to his arrest.
गोपालगंज के नगर थाना क्षेत्र के न्यू फ्रेंड्स कॉलोनी में केरल और यहां की पुलिस ने संयुक्त रूप से छापेमारी की। एक युवक जिसने 1.25 करोड़ रुपए के एटीएम से फ्रॉड कर ठगी की थी, उसको गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है। यह युवक यूपी के गोपालपुर जौनपुर निवासी अशोक तिवा है। उसने केरल के कोएटम जिले के कॉपरेटिव बैंक से फ्रॉड करके 1.25 करोड़ रुपए की ठगी की थी। उसकी गिरफ्तारी के लिए केरल पुलिस तकनीकी जांच के आधार पर गोपालगंज पहुंची थी। नगर थानाध्यक्ष ओमप्रकाश चौहान ने बताया कि एटीएम फ्रॉड कर 1.25 करोड़ की ठगी करने वाले अभियुक्त की गिरफ्तारी के लिए पुलिस पहुंची थी। अभियुक्त की गिरफ्तारी के लिए संयुक्त छापेमारी कर गिरफ्तार किया गया है।
