The police in Gopalganj, Bihar, have demolished the extravagant house of the notorious land mafia, Yogendra Pandit. Pandit, who had been evading the authorities for a long time, was involved in fraudulent activities, including creating fake documents and distributing shares of land among influential individuals. Acting on a court order, the police conducted a raid on the opulent house in Banjari village and took action against Pandit.
Raid and Seizure of Assets
On Friday evening, the police first bulldozed the boundary and gate of the house and then conducted a search in each room. They seized items such as doors, windows, and other belongings found in the rooms. The entire operation was video-graphed, and SP Swarn Prabhat supervised the action. The police have stated that they are taking action against the land mafia and are preparing to take action against several other individuals involved in similar activities. The recent raid has created panic among the fugitive criminals in the area.
Background of Yogendra Pandit
Yogendra Pandit has a history of involvement in criminal activities. In the past, during a raid on his house, cases were registered under the Central Motor Vehicle Act and Arms Act. The raid had uncovered fake documents from the transport department, as well as two revolvers and several other incriminating documents. Numerous criminal cases have been registered against him. Apart from ATM theft in Patna and criminal cases in other districts, Pandit has been involved in various illegal activities.
