Police Conducts Surgical Strike on Liquor Distilleries
Police in Gopalganj, Bihar, carried out a surgical strike on liquor distilleries along the banks of the Gandak River, destroying the illegal operations. The bootleggers managed to escape, but the police have been continuously raiding their hideouts and destroying the distilleries. In a recent operation, the police confiscated several drums and equipment used for distilling alcohol, which were then set on fire. This crackdown comes after the water level of the Gandak River receded, allowing the bootleggers to resume their illicit activities.
Police Intensify Crackdown on Bootleggers
The Gopalganj police have been conducting search operations and raids to curb the production of illegal liquor in the Diara and Durgam areas. The police have been successful in seizing and destroying a significant amount of alcohol. The illegal distilleries, which were operating like ponds near the banks of the Gandak River, have been targeted by the police. During a recent raid, the police destroyed 1,000 liters of semi-processed alcohol and 250 liters of country-made alcohol. However, many bootleggers managed to escape during the raids.
Police to Use Drones in Crackdown
The Gopalganj police are set to use drones to intensify their crackdown on bootleggers in the Diara and Durgam areas. The drones will provide valuable assistance in conducting search operations and identifying illegal distilleries. Currently, the production team has access to a drone, and the police headquarters will soon provide another drone to the Gopalganj police. This technology will greatly aid the police in their efforts to combat the illegal liquor trade and smugglers. The police have also been instructed to not provide any shelter or protection to the bootleggers, ensuring a strict crackdown on the illicit liquor trade in the district.
