Tribute to Martyred Jawans
The Chhattisgarh police have decided not to celebrate Holi this year in memory of the jawans who were martyred in a Naxal attack in Kopili village an hour earlier. The incident took place on February 7 when a team of police from Sadar Thana and Vishishtnagar Jori Thana went to destroy a poppy (opium) field. While returning after destroying the poppy field, Naxalites ambushed the security forces near Bairiyok of Sadar Thana area and opened fire, resulting in two jawans being martyred and another jawan being injured. The injured jawan, Akash Singh, is undergoing treatment in Delhi. The martyred jawans were Sikandar Singh from Khiriyanwa village in Gaya district and Sukhan Ram from Tarhasi village in Palamu district.
Decision to Skip Holi
In light of the sacrifices made by the martyred jawans, the Chhattisgarh police have decided not to celebrate Holi this year. The family of the martyred jawans, Sukhan Ram and Sikandar Singh, will be paying tribute to them instead of celebrating the festival. The DSP Headquarters, Rohit Kumar Rajwar, mentioned that an appeal has been issued in court regarding this decision, following the orders of Police Superintendent Vikas Pandey.
Security Operation Turned Fatal
The security operation in Kopili village turned fatal when Naxalites attacked the security forces during their return from destroying the poppy field. The intense firing by the Naxalites resulted in two jawans being martyred and another jawan being injured. The decision to skip Holi this year is a mark of respect for the sacrifices made by these brave jawans in the line of duty.
Undergoing Treatment
The injured jawan, Akash Singh, is currently undergoing treatment in Delhi for his injuries sustained during the Naxal attack. The martyred jawans, Sukhan Ram and Sikandar Singh, hailed from different districts in Bihar and their sacrifice will be remembered by the Chhattisgarh police by forgoing the celebration of Holi this year.
चतरा पुलिस ने शहीद हुए जवानों के याद में होली नहीं मनाने का निर्णय लिया है। उन्होंने उग्रवादी हमले में शहीद हुए जवानों की शहादत को देखते हुए इस निर्णय का एलान किया। शहीद जवानों में सिकंदर सिंह और सुकन राम शामिल थे। जिन्हें श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हुए होली नहीं मनाने का निर्णय लिया गया है। इसके साथ ही महकमे को इस बाबत अपील भी जारी की गई है।
