In Nalanda, Bihar, on Thursday evening, criminals shot and injured an RM doctor. The incident took place in the Akbarpur village of Hilsa police station area. The injured has been identified as Deepak Kumar, a resident of Akbarpur village. Deepak was shot three times.
According to information, Deepak received a phone call from an unknown number on Thursday evening. He was called to Kurmiya Bigha to see a patient. Deepak picked up his bag and started walking towards Kurmiya Bigha. At that moment, the criminals shot him near the high school in Akbarpur village, causing him to fall seriously injured. Upon hearing the gunshots, people nearby rushed to the scene, but the criminals had already fled. After the incident, Deepak was admitted to the Hilsa sub-divisional hospital for treatment. After preliminary treatment, he was referred to Patna PMCH due to his critical condition.
Hilsa Police Station in-charge Abhijeet Kumar stated that after receiving information about the incident, the police immediately reached the scene. By that time, the doctors had already referred the injured to a higher center. The police are currently trying to take a statement from the injured doctor. The reasons behind the incident are still under investigation.
