Police Investigating the Incident
In the Navtolia village in the Pattharghat police station area of Saharsa, a 45-year-old man named Madan Yadav was shot dead over a land dispute. The police arrived at the scene as soon as the information was received and began investigating the case, taking the body into custody for postmortem. The incident took place late on Thursday night. According to relatives, Madan Yadav was involved in a land dispute with Ashok Yadav, Santosh Yadav, and others from the village. These individuals invited Madan under the pretext of a meal and shot him multiple times, resulting in his death.
Fear Grips the Village
Following the incident, a sense of fear has enveloped the village. The Special Task Force (STF) team arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Meanwhile, DSP Dhirendra Pandey visited the incident site and gathered information from the relatives. The deceased’s elder brother mentioned that Madan was a farmer by profession. He explained that Ashok Yadav and others conspired to invite him for a meal and, with the help of criminals on the way, surrounded him and shot him. When Madan sensed danger, he called his wife. Upon her arrival, she witnessed the criminals pointing a pistol at her. She tried to plead with them to spare him, but they pushed her aside and shot him dead in front of her.
Wife Had Previously Warned Against Eating Fish in Sawan
Relatives revealed that some individuals had invited Madan for a meal of fish and rice, taking him away from home. Prior to this, Madan’s wife had warned against eating fish in the month of Sawan. She did not want Madan to go. She believes that if Madan had listened to her, he might have been alive today. Relatives have accused Ashok Yadav, Ramkumar Yadav, Rakesh Yadav, Neetish Yadav, Sudhir Yadav, Santosh Yadav, and others of the murder. The police are conducting raids to arrest the suspects.
