This article reports on a police operation in Munger that uncovered a liquor smuggling attempt using a postal parcel vehicle.

In Munger, police caught a couple of men trying to smuggle liquor during the cold season. This happened when they were checking vehicles near the Hemjapur police station. The police stopped a private postal vehicle and decided to search it.

Upon checking the vehicle, the police found five bags filled with what looked like official files. But when they opened those files, they were surprised to discover that each slot contained a 180 ml tetra pack of foreign liquor. In total, there were 524 tetra packs, amounting to around 94.32 litres of alcohol.

Two men, identified as Mo Irfan from Munger and Santosh Kumar from Patna, were arrested. They revealed that they were bringing this liquor from Uttar Pradesh and had previously used the postal vehicle to carry alcohol under the guise of delivering mail.

The police noted that this was not the first time they encountered such a method of smuggling, as there have been previous cases where illegal liquor was hidden in official files. All the parcels found in the vehicle were confiscated by the authorities.

Following the arrests, the police are continuing their investigation into the matter. They aim to prevent further illegal liquor activities in the area and ensure that those involved face legal consequences.
