Outdated School Building

The Uttkramit Madhya Vidyalaya Jamuna in Chatra, Jharkhand, established over five decades ago, is struggling with a failing system and lack of attention from authorities. Students are forced to study under trees in the open sky, risking their safety. In case of rain, they are shifted to makeshift rooms that are incomplete. This situation is a result of the deterioration of the old school building over the years.

Naxal Affected Village

Located near the Jharkhand-Bihar border, the severe Naxal affected Pratappur block in the Tandwa Panchayat of Jamua village is home to the Uttkramit Madhya Vidyalaya Jamuna. The children studying here do not have access to basic facilities like a proper roof over their heads. The school was established in 1964 with the aim of educating underprivileged children and preparing them to play a meaningful role in society. However, due to lack of maintenance and attention from the government, the school building remains in a dilapidated state.

Government Negligence

The sorry state of affairs at the school reflects the negligence of the government towards education in the region. Despite the noble intention of providing education to the less privileged, the authorities have failed to ensure basic amenities for the students. The lack of a proper building and maintenance has put the safety and well-being of the children at risk. It is imperative for the concerned authorities to take immediate action to address the situation and provide a conducive learning environment for the students.

Call for Action

The plight of the students at Uttkramit Madhya Vidyalaya Jamuna highlights the urgent need for intervention to improve the condition of the school. It is crucial for the government to allocate resources for the repair and maintenance of the school building, ensuring that the students have a safe and comfortable place to study. Additionally, efforts should be made to address the broader issues of education and infrastructure in Naxal affected areas to uplift the standard of education and provide a better future for the children.
