According to the weather department, there is a possibility of dense fog in one or two places in the north-eastern part of Bihar till January 24. There is also a possibility of fog in one or two places in the western, north-central, and south-central parts of the state. Places such as Patna, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Vaishali, Sheohar, Samastipur, Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, and Arwal will continue to experience fog and cold waves. However, Patna will see some sunlight for a few hours, with a light breeze accompanying the fog in the morning.

Gaya had the coldest weather, with a minimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius.
Severe Cold Wave in Gaya
Gaya is experiencing extreme cold with a minimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius. People are facing difficulties due to the bone-chilling cold. Saturday was the coldest day of the season in Gaya, with a minimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 18.6 degrees Celsius. The cold wave is also affecting train services, with trains running at a slower pace. Flights have also been affected by the cold wave. The weather forecast predicts that Sunday will also be a cold day due to the cold wave, and temperatures are likely to remain around the same range throughout the week. Dense fog and cold waves are expected to continue.
Train Delays and Passenger Discomfort
Due to the dense fog and extreme cold, many trains have been delayed for hours. Trains running from Patna Junction have been delayed for several hours. Rajdhani Express and other trains have had to slow down due to the fog. On Saturday, the Tejas Rajdhani Express from Delhi to Patna was delayed by 40 minutes. Similarly, the Sampurna Kranti Express and Vikramshila Express were delayed by three hours, the Shramjeevi Express was delayed by three hours and 8 minutes, the Magadh Express was delayed by two hours, and the Gaya LTT Express was delayed by seven hours. The delays have caused a heavy rush of passengers at the stations. Passengers are facing difficulties and discomfort due to the fog, cold, and delays.
24 जनवरी तक बिहार में उत्तर-पूर्व भाग के कुछ स्थानों में अति घना कुहासा छाया रहने की संभावना है। पश्चिम, उत्तर-मध्य, और दक्षिण-मध्य भाग के कुछ स्थानों में भी कुहासा छाया रहने की संभावना है। पटना, सीतामढ़ी, मधुबनी, मुजफफरपुर, दरभंगा, वैशाली, शिवहर, समस्तीपुर, बक्सर, भोजपुर, रोहतास और अरवल में कोहरा व शीतलहर का असर अभी तक जारी रहेगा। बिहार के अन्य क्षेत्रों में भी कम से कम छह डिग्री सेल्सियस से नीचे न्यूनतम तापमान की संभावना है। गया का न्यूनतम तापमान 4 डिग्री रहा है। ठंड के कारण ट्रेनों की रफ्तार कम हुई है और हवाई उड़ानों पर भी इसका असर पड़ा है। मौसम पूर्वानुमान के मुताबिक अगले सप्ताह तक न्यूनतम तापमान छह से सात डिग्री सेल्सियस से ऊपर नहीं जाने की संभावना है। यात्रियों को कोहरे, ठंड और गलन की वजह से परेशानी हो रही है।
