Power Crisis in Patna
Patna is reeling under severe heatwave, leading to a continuous increase in electricity consumption. This has impacted the supply system, with over 150 feeders of 11 KV overloaded in the city. As a result, unscheduled power cuts are being experienced by residents in various areas.
Complaints and Maintenance
Residents like Irshad Alam and Pappu Malik from Gulzarbagh division have been making efforts to lodge complaints at the fuse call center, but the phone lines remain busy. Junior Engineer Akhlaq Ansari acknowledged the technical issues leading to power cuts and assured that maintenance work is in progress to restore the supply.
Grid Fire Incident
A fire broke out in the protection cable of the Deegha grid on Wednesday morning, leading to a temporary shutdown of the supply. The quick response from the workers helped in extinguishing the fire and restoring the power supply within 55 minutes, but areas like Danapur and Rajabazar faced disruptions.
Scheduled Maintenance
There will be maintenance work on the Gayghat grid from 7 am to 8 am on Thursday, affecting several areas in the city. Residents in places like Exhibition Road, Kadamkuan, Rajendranagar, and others are advised to brace for power cuts during this period.
