Devghar: On the first day of the new year, private bus drivers began a three-day strike in protest against the Central government’s Hit and Run law. The impact of this strike was also seen in Devghar, where long-distance buses did not operate. According to information from the bus stand, approximately 200 buses were not in service in Devghar. This caused a lot of inconvenience for passengers and affected businesses worth 20 to 25 lakhs. However, some buses were seen operating for certain destinations like Dhanbad, Ranchi, and Dumka.
Auto fare to Hansdiha was seen charging 150 rupees to passengers who needed to travel to Bhagalpur, Godda, and SultanGanj as no buses were available from the Devghar bus stand. Similarly, passengers traveling to places like Chandan, Katoria, Sangrampur, and Chakai also had to reserve autos for their journeys.
Stranded passengers in Sangrampur had been waiting for buses since morning, but no buses were available even in the afternoon. It seems that they will have to stay with relatives or find accommodation in a hotel. Similarly, Madan Thakur and his family were waiting for a bus to Bhagalpur, but as the day progressed, they realized they might have to reserve a car or find a room in a hotel or lodge.
No buses were available for Gonda throughout the day. It is uncertain whether any buses will be available in the afternoon as they are stuck halfway. If buses are not available, it will be difficult to spend the night outside in the cold weather.
Neelesh Kumar was unable to find any buses to SultanGanj. He plans to go to the station and see if there are any trains available to return home. The first day of the new year has been wasted waiting for buses. The lack of bus services is causing a lot of inconvenience.
In another news, a female shop owner at Javipr accused of assault and harassment against her was filed by eight people.
