Agricultural advisors have been recommending farmers in the area to cultivate the G9 variety of bananas. Amit Kumar also heard about this recommendation and decided to have a conversation with the agricultural advisor. The advisor informed him that subsidized plant saplings were available for this variety. However, farmers would have to initially invest their own money and receive the subsidy amount in their accounts after a few days. Amit Kumar followed the advisor’s suggestion five years ago and planted the G9 variety, which proved to be profitable with less effort. Later, he also planted the Muthiya and Alpana varieties, which he sells to traders in various districts, besides Bihar.
समस्तीपुर के मोहिउद्दीननगर प्रखंड के युवा किसान बिट्टू कुमार एक प्रगतिशील किसान हैं जो केले की बागवानी से बहुत अच्छी तरक्की कर रहे हैं। उनके दो बीघा खेत में वे तीन वैरायटी के केले उगाते हैं और एक सीजन में 5 लाख का मुनाफा कमा लेते हैं। उनका केला समस्तीपुर सहित बिहार के कई जिलों में व्यापारियों के माध्यम से बेचा जाता है। वहीं उनकी मेहनत और लगन की जरूरत है जो उन्हें इतनी तरक्की दिला रही है। वे G9, मुठिया और अल्पान्न वैरायटी के केले उगाते हैं और अपनी मेहनत के बावजूद बहुत अच्छा मुनाफा कमा रहे हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि वे पांच वर्ष पहले एक किसान सलाहकार की सलाह पर G9 वैरायटी के केले लगाए थे और उसके बाद मुठिया और अल्पान्न वैरायटी के भी केले उगाने शुरू कर दिये थे। उनकी खेती को बिहार के अलावा कई जिलों में व्यापारियों के माध्यम से भेजा जाता है।
