Theft of Rs 4.6 lakh for Wedding

On 16th June, a theft occurred in a house in Darbhanga where thieves stole Rs 4.6 lakh kept for a wedding. The next day, villagers caught a thief and took him to the police station to demand action. Instead of taking action against the thief, the police beat up the person who caught him, leading to public outrage.

Protest in Front of Police Station

On Monday night, around 100 people gathered in front of the police station to protest the police’s inaction. The girl whose wedding funds were stolen was also part of the protest. The protest continued till the next morning, causing the girl’s mother to faint. The police eventually dispersed the crowd.

Police Action and Investigation

An FIR has been filed regarding the theft, and the person who caught the thief was also taken into custody. The police are questioning another person related to the incident. The incident led to protests in various police stations and deployment of additional police personnel. The investigation is ongoing to determine the culprits.

Allegations of Police Brutality

Relatives of the victims alleged that the police beat them up instead of taking action against the thieves. The police denied the allegations and stated that an investigation is underway to solve the case. The victims demanded immediate action, but the police emphasized the need for due process before any arrests are made.

दरभंगा के एक घर में 16 जून को चोरी हुई थी, जिसमें शादी के लिए रखे 4.6 लाख रुपए चोरी हो गए थे। ग्रामीण ने एक चोर को पकड़कर थाने ले गए, लेकिन पुलिस ने चोर की जगह उसको पीट दिया। इसके बाद लोगों में आक्रोश बढ़ गया और सोमवार रात करीब 100 लोग थाने के सामने प्रदर्शन करने लगे। ग्रामीणों को समझाने के बावजूद, पुलिस ने उन्हें भगा दिया और एफआईआर दर्ज कर ली गई। अब अनुसंधान के तहत कार्रवाई की जा रही है।
