Opposition to Amended Law in Ranchi
The opposition to the amended law in the hit and run case is not only prevalent across the country but also in the capital city of Ranchi. Buses destined for Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh, among other places, have remained stationary at the Kantha Toli Bus Stand in Ranchi since January 1. The protests against this law are currently being carried out by bus drivers at an individual level, rather than in an organized manner.
Protests by Bus Union Members
Bus union members and drivers in Ranchi are protesting against the amended law, which imposes a 10-year sentence and a fine of 10 lakhs in hit and run cases. On January 2, bus drivers and union members at the Kantha Toli Bus Stand demonstrated against the central government’s law, demanding its immediate withdrawal and amendments. This has resulted in buses being stranded on highways and other roads, causing difficulties for commuters.
Potential Impact on Essential Commodities
Concerns are being raised about the ongoing protests by bus drivers, as it may lead to a shortage of essential commodities if the demonstrations continue for the next few days. The bus services from Ranchi to five other states have been affected, including 200 buses for Bihar, 40 for West Bengal, 15 for Uttar Pradesh, 10 for Chhattisgarh, and 10 for Odisha.
रांची, झारखंड की राजधानी, में भी हिट एंड रन मामले में केंद्र सरकार के संशोधित कानून का विरोध जारी है। रांची के कांटा टोली बस स्टैंड में बिहार, यूपी, बंगाल, छत्तीसगढ़ समेत दूसरी जगहों के लिए जाने वाली बसें 1 जनवरी से ही खड़ी हैं। बस चालकों और बस यूनियन से जुड़े लोग हिट एंड रन मामले में संशोधित कानून के खिलाफ विरोध कर रहे हैं, जिसमें 10 साल की सजा और 10 लाख जुर्माने का विरोध है। ये विरोध प्रदर्शन अभी तक संगठित रूप से नहीं हैं, लेकिन बस चालक इसके खिलाफ अपने स्तर पर प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं। यह विरोध प्रदर्शन बस सेवाओं पर असर डाल रहा है और यात्रियों की मुश्किलें बढ़ रही हैं। बस चालक कल्याण संघ के सचिव राणा बजरंगी सिंह ने बताया कि रांची से पांच राज्यों के लिए खुलने वाली बस सेवाओं पर इसका असर पड़ा है। इसके साथ ही बंगाल के कुछ शहरों के लिए भी सेवाएं अस्तित्व में हैं। चालकों का कहना है कि यह संशोधित कानून उनके हित में नहीं है और इससे अपने लिए कई परेशानियां बढ़ रही हैं।
