Purnia Airport in Bihar is gearing up for exciting changes. The airport will soon have new flights, starting with IndiGo Airlines launching its service to Kolkata. This first flight is scheduled for 17 September 2025, marking a significant step for air connectivity in the area.
IndiGo’s flights will operate three times a week using a 78-seat ATR aircraft. The schedule includes flights from Kolkata to Purnia at 12:30 PM, reaching by 1:40 PM, and from Purnia to Kolkata at 2:30 PM, arriving at 3:40 PM. This service will make travel between these two cities much easier.
The fare for the initial flights is set at ₹3,115, making it affordable for passengers looking to travel quickly. The flight will cover the distance in just 1 hour and 10 minutes, providing a convenient option for those needing to travel for business or personal reasons.
In addition to IndiGo, Star Air will also start flights from Purnia to Ahmedabad. The inaugural flight is on 15 September 2025, and regular operations will begin from 29 September 2025. This development will enhance connectivity between Bihar and Gujarat.
