Rahul Gandhi, senior leader of the Indian National Congress, is visiting Bihar again after a gap of one week. As part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he will be arriving in Aurangabad today. From Aurangabad, he will travel to Sasaram and Kaimur, and then enter Uttar Pradesh on February 16. The planned roadshow in Aurangabad has been cancelled, and instead, a public meeting will be held at Gandhi Maidan, where Rahul Gandhi and Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge will address the gathering. During this phase of the yatra, Rahul Gandhi will also be accompanied by Tejashwi Yadav, former Chief Minister of Bihar and National General Secretary of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
This is the second phase of Rahul Gandhi’s Nyay Yatra in Bihar. In the first phase, he had already visited four districts of Seemanchal from January 29 to 31. Now, in the second phase, he will be visiting Shahabad, also known as Ara. Shahabad is considered to be a crucial region for the Congress party, just like Seemanchal.
In this second phase of the yatra, Rahul Gandhi was initially supposed to travel from Jharkhand to Bihar, but due to the nomination of Sonia Gandhi for the Rajya Sabha, there have been some changes in his schedule. Now, Rahul Gandhi will fly from Delhi with Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and reach Gaya Airport, from where they will proceed to Aurangabad by helicopter.
From Bihar, Rahul Gandhi’s journey will continue to Uttar Pradesh with the pre-determined convoy. The convoy will include a well-equipped bus with modern facilities, as well as several containers where accompanying supporters can rest during the journey.
