This article talks about the extension of the Patna-Lokmanya Terminus Express to Rajgir, improving travel for passengers in the Magadh region.
The Railway Ministry has announced that the Patna-Lokmanya Terminus Express, also known as Train No. 13201/13202, will now travel all the way to Rajgir. This new route will start operating from September 17, 2025. This change is aimed at making it easier for passengers to visit important religious and tourist spots in the Magadh area.
With this extension, Train No. 13202 will leave from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and continue to Patna, making stops at Patna Saheb, Fatuha, Bakhtiyarpur, Bihar Sharif, and Nalanda before reaching Rajgir at 3:00 PM. Similarly, Train No. 13201 will depart from Rajgir at 8:45 PM, stopping at the same stations and reaching Patna, where it will continue to its final destination at 11:55 PM.
This new train schedule means that passengers in the Magadh region will no longer need to travel to Patna to catch a train to Mumbai. The train will run daily, making it much more convenient for travelers. Additionally, the main maintenance of this train will now take place in Rajgir instead of Rajendra Nagar terminal.
Commercial stops for the train will be made at Patna Saheb, Fatuha, Bakhtiyarpur, Bihar Sharif, and Nalanda. This will provide easy access for locals and tourists alike, enhancing travel options in the region.
This expansion is expected to significantly benefit millions of passengers in the Magadh region, providing them with direct train services to popular destinations without the hassle of going through Patna.
