**Relief from Heatwave with Rain**
The weather department has indicated a significant change in the weather in Bihar after two days. It is believed that moist air from the Bay of Bengal will enter the northeastern parts of Bihar, bringing light rain and the possibility of dusty winds. According to the Bihar State Disaster Management Department, there are chances of scattered showers in parts of northern Bihar from May 4 to May 6, and in parts of southeastern Bihar on May 5 and May 6. This change in weather is expected to bring a partial decrease in temperature in southern parts, including Patna.
**Heatwave Alert in 17 Districts**
A heatwave alert has been issued for Vaishali, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, Shivhar, Supaul, Kaimur, Aurangabad, Nawada, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Khagaria, Munger, Jamui, and Banka districts in Bihar. The impact of the heatwave is expected to continue in these areas, with Patna and 16 other cities experiencing the heatwave effect. The highest maximum temperature recorded in the last 24 hours was 42.9 degrees Celsius in Sheikhpura, while the lowest temperature was 19.0 degrees Celsius in Pusa.
**Yellow Alert in Some Districts**
An orange alert has been issued for some areas in Supaul and Araria districts, while a yellow alert has been issued for parts of Bhagalpur, Purnia, East Champaran, Sheikhpura, Khagaria, and Banka districts. The rest of the areas have been forecasted for hot days. In April 2024, the highest average maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 41.3 degrees Celsius in Sheikhpura, with the highest maximum temperature recorded on April 30 at 44.9 degrees Celsius.
