Tantric Significance of the Temple
It is believed that the establishment of this temple was done by Darbhanga Maharaja Vishweshwar Singh in the 17th century for tantric practices. Darbhanga means “Gateway to Bengal,” indicating the king’s interest in tantric practices that originated in Bengal. The temple is adorned with various historical symbols that indicate its association with tantric practices.
