Begusarai: Alcohol Smuggling Continues Despite Prohibition
Alcohol smugglers in Bihar are becoming increasingly bold, with even ordinary citizens now falling victim to their activities. The fear of the police seems to have completely vanished from the minds of these smugglers. Last night, a police team went to raid a location based on a tip-off about alcohol smuggling, but the smugglers launched a fierce attack, resulting in the death of a Sub-Inspector and injuries to a Home Guard. The injured Home Guard is currently undergoing treatment at the Begusarai Hospital.
Incident at the Navkothi Police Station Area
The entire incident took place in the Navkothi police station area near the Chhatouna Bridge. The identity of the slain Sub-Inspector has been identified as Khamas Chaudhary, who was serving at the Navkothi police station. The injured soldier has been identified as Baleshwar Yadav, who is a Home Guard. According to information received, the Navkothi police received a tip-off last night that a large consignment of alcohol was being transported in an Alto car.
Smugglers Escape, Investigation Underway
Upon receiving this information, Khamas Chaudhary, along with other police personnel, was present near the Chhatouna Bridge. As soon as the Alto car arrived, they attempted to stop it. However, the car increased its speed upon seeing the police and ran over Khamas Chaudhary and a Home Guard, leaving them injured. The other police officers managed to escape and save their lives. Later, the police conducted a raid and arrested the owner of the Alto car, who is currently being interrogated.
