Ranchi Court Orders Rahul Gandhi to Appear
The MP-MLA court in Ranchi has ordered Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to be present today. The case involves objectionable comments made by Home Minister Amit Shah. The special judge of the MP-MLA court, Sarthak Sharma, had previously heard the case on May 21. The court had dismissed the challenge issued by Rahul Gandhi against the summons, leading to him being re-summoned.
Controversy Surrounding Amit Shah’s Remarks
A complaint was filed by BJP leader Navin Jha against Amit Shah for objectionable comments made. During a convention in Delhi in 2018, Rahul Gandhi had stated that a murder accused could become the BJP president, but not in Congress. This led to a complaint being filed in the Chaibasa court as well. A fine of one thousand rupees has been imposed in the Chaibasa court in connection with the case.
Legal Battles Against Rahul Gandhi in Jharkhand
Three cases are currently ongoing against Rahul Gandhi in Jharkhand. The first case is related to objectionable comments made against Amit Shah in the lower court in Ranchi by Navin Jha. The second case, also involving Amit Shah, was filed by BJP leader Pratap Kumar in the Chaibasa court. The third case is related to comments made about Modi’s surname. All these cases are being heard in Ranchi.
