Record-breaking Heatwave in Bihar

The scorching heat in Bihar has broken a 55-year-old record. Due to the intense heatwave in Nalanda, people are suffering immensely. A Home Guard jawan who had reached Nalanda for election duty tragically passed away. It is suspected that he died due to heatstroke.

Tragic Death of Home Guard Jawan

The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Prasad (54), a resident of Sevan district in Bihar. He was stationed at the Noutan police station. He had arrived in Nalanda on the evening of May 26 for the seventh phase of voting. He was staying at the JP Group of Education College.

Sudden Incident and Hospitalization

Ramesh Prasad collapsed suddenly while walking around the college campus and was rushed to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead upon arrival at the hospital. The cause of his death is yet to be confirmed.

Police Personnel Affected by Heatwave

On Wednesday, four police personnel fell ill due to the heatwave. Three of them were on election duty in Nalanda. The affected personnel are Priyanka Kumari from Jehanabad, Amisha Kumari from Rohtas, Janardan Prasad from Ara, and Traffic Constable Brijesh Kumar. They are currently admitted to the Sadar Hospital for treatment.
