Satyam Kumar/Bhagalpur: The city’s two churches, one near Kacheri Chowk and the other on the way to Navayug from the clock tower, have been beautifully decorated in preparation for the upcoming December 25th celebration. Both churches have been adorned in a stunning manner. The Benedict Church near Kacheri Chowk is particularly beautiful, attracting not only Christian community members but also people from various religions who come to light candles and pray for their wishes to be fulfilled.
The history of the Benedict Church near Kacheri Chowk is quite old. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it had been closed to the general public for the past few years. However, this year, Father Thomas mentioned that they would open the church for the general public for a limited time. The history of this church dates back four decades. Although it was not grand in appearance earlier, it has recently been renovated in a magnificent manner, and preparations for Christmas have added to its beauty.
Traffic arrangements have been made in preparation for the upcoming celebration. On Christmas day, there is a shop selling candles illuminated with candles ranging from ₹5 to ₹300. The place becomes crowded with people, resembling a fair. The administration is making arrangements to strengthen traffic management for this occasion. Traffic DSP Ashish Singh mentioned that additional forces would be deployed near the church to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid any disruptions.
25 दिसंबर को भागलपुर में आने वाले बड़े दिन के लिए लोगों में उत्साह है। इसी के साथ गिरजाघर को भी सजाया गया है। शहर में दो गिरजाघर हैं, जिन्हें खूबसूरत तरीके से सजाया गया है। इनमें से एक कचहरी चौक के पास है और दूसरा घंटाघर के पास है। इन गिरजाघरों में कई धर्मों के लोग भी आते हैं और कैंडल जलाकर अपनी मुरादों की मांग करते हैं। इसके साथ ही भागलपुर के कचहरी चौक के पास बेनेडिक्ट चर्च भी है, जिसे काफी खूबसूरत बनाया गया है। इस चर्च का इतिहास 40 साल पुराना है। कोरोना के कारण कुछ समय से यह चर्च बंद था, लेकिन इस बार उसे आम लोगों के लिए भी खोला जा रहा है। चर्च के आसपास ट्रैफिक को सुचारू रूप से व्यवस्थित किया जा रहा है और अतिरिक्त फोर्स की तैनाती भी की जा रही है।
