This article discusses the construction of a new rail overbridge in Saharsa, which aims to ease traffic issues in the city after a long wait.
A big update for Saharsa! After waiting for 35 years, the people are finally getting a rail overbridge (ROB) in the Bengali market area. This work started on the special day of Vishwakarma Puja, with the District Magistrate, Deepesh Kumar, present for the ceremony.
The construction of this overbridge is expected to help solve the city’s long-standing traffic problems. Many people have faced difficulties due to heavy traffic jams, which have even led to serious incidents in the past. With this new bridge, the hope is to improve the flow of vehicles and make life easier for everyone.
This project is significant because the lack of an ROB has caused major issues in the city. Emergency vehicles like ambulances and fire trucks have often been stuck in traffic, leading to tragic outcomes. Now, with the ROB, it is expected that such problems will decrease significantly, providing better access during emergencies.
The project faced many delays due to political issues and legal matters. Past leaders have tried to start this work, but it was halted because of disputes over land. Now, the construction is finally moving forward, and officials are optimistic about its completion.
The construction began on September 17, 2025. The District Magistrate has instructed the construction agency to finish the work on time. This new overbridge will not only help reduce traffic but will also support the overall development of Saharsa, making daily life much more convenient for its residents.
