With this top rank, she is now set to join the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS), fulfilling a major career milestone.

What is the background of Dr. Deepali Mahto?

Dr. Deepali Mahto comes from a well-educated family in Katharbanni Mohalla, Ward Number 15 of Rosera town. Her father, Sanjay Kumar Mahto, served the nation as an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer and is now retired. Her mother is Sulekha Mahto.

  • Education: Deepali is a qualified Dentist (BDS) by profession.
  • Higher Studies: She completed her higher education in Mumbai before focusing on civil services.
  • Family Legacy: Her grandfather, the late Virendra Mahto, was also a respected figure in the community.

How has she improved her performance this year?

This is not the first time Deepali has cleared this tough examination. In the previous cycle, UPSC CSE 2024, she had secured the 105th rank. While she was already undergoing training based on that result, she continued her preparation to achieve a higher rank. Her hard work paid off in the 2025 cycle, pushing her rank up significantly to 36. The top rank in this year’s exam was secured by Anuj Agnihotri.
