A woman who had been missing for 15 years due to mental illness was found safe and healthy on Rakshabandhan, bringing immense happiness to her brother.

The woman, who is approximately 50 years old, regained her memory and identified her younger brother as her guardian instead of her husband or daughter.

The case originates from Nawada Mathia village in Saran district. Upon receiving information from the district administration, the woman’s younger brother brought her back from Bengaluru and they celebrated Rakhi together.

The woman, named Vidyavati Devi, was the daughter of Satyanarayan Prasad. She married Suresh Kushwaha and had a daughter. However, she developed mental illness and her cognitive abilities started to decline.

One day, Vidyavati Devi left home and ended up in Bengaluru. She was admitted to a mental hospital, where she received proper treatment and regained her memory. She informed the officials about her maternal address and her brother, Pancha Prasad.

The Saran district administration was informed by the Bengaluru government, and Pancha Prasad was sent to bring his sister back home. The family is now celebrating her return and plans to take care of her for the rest of her life.
