Intense cold weather has made it difficult for students to go to school in Bihar. The minimum temperature in Patna was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius, while in Gaya it was 8.1 degrees Celsius. Despite the cold, buses and school vans were seen on the roads, as students had to reach school by 9:30 am. Children who live far from school have to leave their homes between 7:00 am and 7:30 am. A reporter from “Amar Ujala” decided to understand the situation and asked the students if they feel cold. It was found that parents don’t want to wake up early to drop their children off at the bus stop. Some students from private schools said they would skip school if they don’t go. Government school students were told that their names would be marked absent if they don’t attend for three consecutive days. Schools in Bihar up to class 8 have been given holidays until January 20. A decision for higher classes will be made today, and students are waiting for the government’s announcement.
