This article talks about the new railway project connecting Shivhar, Meenapur, and Motihari, which will benefit over five lakh people.
A new railway project is coming up to connect Shivhar, Meenapur, and Motihari. This project will help a lot of people in the area, especially those living in Meenapur block. It will improve travel and transport for the local population.
The main highlight of this project is the construction of a high-level bridge over the Bagmati River in Shivhar. This bridge will be about 61 meters long and 9 meters wide, built to accommodate two train tracks. Around ₹70 crores will be spent on this bridge, making it the largest railway bridge on this route.
More than five lakh people in the Meenapur block, including villages like Sivai Patti and Turkhi, will enjoy the benefits. Currently, these areas are farther from Muzaffarpur station, but with the new line, they will have easier access to Shivhar station, boosting local economy.
This railway connection will help in developing local markets and businesses. It will link Shivhar directly to major cities, reducing the need to travel to Muzaffarpur or Bapudham Motihari for long-distance trains to places like Delhi or Mumbai.
The total cost of the project has now risen to ₹926 crores, with ₹50 crores already spent on land acquisition. The work is moving fast, and tenders have been issued to start the construction from Sitamarhi to Rewasi.
