Shooting Incident in Buxar
An incident of shooting has come to light in Buxar on Wednesday afternoon. Four criminals on a bike near Parasganda village shot at hardcore Naxalite-turned Azad Paswan and fled from the scene. Azad Paswan fell to the ground and local residents informed the police about the incident. He was taken to the Dumraon sub-divisional hospital for treatment, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Azad Paswan, who was injured, has provided the names of four people to the police, based on which the police have launched efforts to arrest them.
Attack on Azad Paswan
It was reported that Azad Paswan (45 years old) was on his bike heading out of the village for some work. As soon as he reached outside Parasganda village, he was shot at by criminals who had already laid an ambush, resulting in two bullets hitting his head and chest. Chaos ensued at the scene after the incident.
Police Investigation
Dumraon SDPO Afak Ansari mentioned that the police have started investigating the case. The victim has provided the names of four individuals, leading to the initiation of a search operation for their arrest. The police are working towards apprehending all four suspects soon.
Past Criminal Activities of Azad Paswan
Azad Paswan, who was previously an area commander, had allegations of being involved in several criminal incidents in the past. He has been accused of nine murders and robbery cases in Buxar. He was also charged with attacking a police picket in Itahari on January 23, 2007, where he looted ten rifles and was accused of killing a soldier. Additionally, he was the main suspect in the murder of Laxman Tiwari near Athar village on June 12, 2006, and was also involved in the murder of BSP leader and former district councilor Pradeep Kumar alias Millu Chaudhary at the Sanki bridge near Mathila village in the Koransarai police station area on April 29, 2016. He was arrested by the STF in 2016 following the latter incident.
