Shubh Muhurat for Weddings in June and July

According to Hindu beliefs, it is always auspicious to get married in a shubh muhurat. It is believed that when a marriage takes place in a shubh muhurat, all the deities come together to bless the couple, resulting in a happy married life. Based on the positions of the planets and stars, auspicious wedding timings are determined. In June, there is a shubh muhurat on the 28th for weddings, while in July, there are 8 auspicious timings from the 9th to the 16th.

Chaturmas and Auspicious Occasions

During Chaturmas, which lasts from Ashadha Shukla Ekadashi to Kartik Shukla Ekadashi, various auspicious ceremonies like weddings, housewarming, and mundan ceremonies are avoided. It is believed that during Chaturmas, Lord Vishnu goes into a state of sleep. The period starts with Hari Shayani Ekadashi and ends with Devotthana Ekadashi.

Auspicious Wedding Dates and Astrological Considerations

Astrologer Alok Kumar has stated that while June has a suggested wedding date, it may not be a complete muhurat according to scriptures. It is advised not to get married at night as Vedic mantras are not chanted at night. Therefore, it is important to consult with a knowledgeable person before finalizing any wedding date. The auspicious dates for weddings in July are from the 9th to the 16th, after which the sun moves into the sign of Cancer, making weddings inauspicious for a few months.
