Siwan police have successfully arrested two criminals for demanding extortion money from a business owner. The accused had asked for ₹10 lakh from a diagnostic center operator and threatened his life. SP Puran Kumar Jha confirmed that the police team acted swiftly to catch the culprits involved in this crime.

What was the extortion demand?
The incident took place on February 5, 2026, in the Nautan area. Unknown callers contacted the owner of Jay Shri Ram Diagnostic and CT Scan Center to demand money. They asked for a sum of ₹10 lakh and threatened to murder the owner if the amount was not paid immediately.
Following the complaint, the police registered a case on February 7 under sections 308(4) and 308(5) of the BNS. The administration emphasized zero tolerance for such crimes to ensure the safety of local businesses and the public.
Who are the arrested accused?
The police team from Nautan Police Station and the district investigation unit worked together on this case. By analyzing call detail records (CDR) and using secret information from local sources, they identified the suspects involved in the threat.
The arrested individuals were identified as Nitesh Kumar Kushwaha and Hridayanand Giri. During the operation, the police also recovered the mobile phone and the fake SIM card that were used to make the threatening calls to the victim.
