Tragic Incident in Lohardaga
A soldier in Lohardaga shot and killed an ASI on Wednesday night. The soldier had returned home from election duty and had a dispute with his wife over something. He locked his wife and daughter in a room, following which his wife sought help from nearby police officers. ASI Dharmendra Singh arrived at the scene, where the soldier lost control and fired a shot, resulting in the death of ASI Dharmendra Singh.
Family’s Claims and Police Investigation
The soldier’s family claims that he was mentally ill, while ASI’s family alleges that the soldier was being falsely accused to save him. Questions have been raised as to why the soldier was put on duty when he was mentally ill. The police have arrested the accused soldier and are conducting an investigation into the matter.
Dramatic Surrender After Hours of Hiding
After committing the murder, the soldier hid in a building and engaged in a standoff with the police. Tear gas was used to try and flush him out, but he continued to evade capture. Eventually, on Thursday morning, he surrendered after a long night of drama and tension.
Surrender After Communication with Family
Despite being reluctant to surrender and armed with a loaded rifle, the soldier eventually gave up after speaking with his wife and children over the phone. There were concerns about his potential to harm others, but through communication with his family, he finally surrendered peacefully.
