Opposition alliance against BJP to hold meeting in Mumbai
In view of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the meeting of ‘INDIA’ alliance of opposition parties against BJP is being held in Mumbai on 31 August and 1 September. The Congress is claiming to increase the clan of the alliance and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also said that some more political parties are likely to join it during the meeting of the opposition alliance ‘India’ in Mumbai.
Discussion on election-related issues
Nitish Kumar, who has been playing a key role in bringing together anti-BJP parties, stated that election-related issues like seat-sharing would be discussed during the meeting. He mentioned that the strategy for the upcoming general elections will be discussed and many other agendas will be finalized. Nitish Kumar expressed his desire to unite as many parties as possible before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Inclusion of new parties in the alliance
Congress spokesperson Alok Sharma also talked about the inclusion of new parties in the ‘India’ alliance. He mentioned that some very important decisions will be taken in the upcoming meeting and at least 4 to 5 political parties out of the 38 parties participating in the NDA meeting are in touch with the ‘India’ alliance. Some of them are expected to join the opposition faction very soon.
Third meeting of ‘India’ alliance in Mumbai
The 26-party opposition alliance formed to take on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Center in the Lok Sabha elections has met twice in less than a month. The first meeting was held in Patna on 23 June and the second meeting was held in Bengaluru on 17-18 July. ‘India’ is set to hold its third meeting in Mumbai on August 31 and September 1.

भाजपा के खिलाफ विपक्षी पार्टियों को एकत्र करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने वाले नीतीश कुमार ने ‘भारत’ में शामिल होने वाली संभावित पार्टियों के नाम नहीं बताए, लेकिन उन्होंने कहा कि सीट साझा करने जैसे चुनाव संबंधी मुद्दों पर बैठक में चर्चा की जाएगी। पटना में पत्रकारों से बातचीत करते हुए नीतीश ने कहा, ‘हम मुंबई में होने वाली आगामी बैठक में अगले साल के सामान्य चुनावों के लिए ‘भारत’ की रणनीति पर चर्चा करेंगे। सीट साझा करने जैसे मुद्दों पर चर्चा की जाएगी और कई अन्य एजेंडे तय किए जाएंगे। हमारे गठबंधन में कुछ और राजनीतिक पार्टियां शामिल होंगी।’
उन्होंने कहा, ‘मैं चाहता हूं कि 2024 के लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले जितनी भी पार्टियां जुटा सकूं। मैं इस दिशा में काम कर रहा हूं… मेरी खुद की इच्छा नहीं है।’ इसी बीच, कांग्रेस के प्रवक्ता आलोक शर्मा ने भी ‘भारत’ गठबंधन में नई पार्टियों के शामिल होने की बात की। शर्मा ने कहा कि मुंबई में 1 सितंबर को होने वाली ‘भारत’ समूह की आगामी बैठक में कुछ बहुत महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय लिए जाएंगे।
यहां एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में उन्होंने कहा, ‘NDA की बैठक में शामिल हो रही 38 पार्टियों में से कम से कम 4 से 5 राजनीतिक पार्टियां ‘भारत’ गठबंधन के संपर्क में हैं। कुछ में संभावित है कि वे विपक्षी दल के साथ जल्द ही शामिल होंगे, जबकि कुछ चुनाव से पहले शामिल होंगे।’
भाजपा के खिलाफ केंद्र में मुकाबला करने के लिए बनाई गई 26-पार्टी विपक्षी गठबंधन ने एक महीने से कम समय में दो बार मिलवाट की है। विपक्षी गठबंधन की पहली बैठक 23 जून को पटना में हुई थी और दूसरी बैठक 17-18 जुलाई को बेंगलुरु में हुई थी। ‘भारत’ की तीसरी बैठक 31 अगस्त और 1 सितंबर को मुंबई में होगी।
