SSB Jawans Arrest Drug Trafficker at India-Nepal Border

SSB jawans deployed at the India-Nepal border, in a joint operation with Mahuava Thana, arrested a drug trafficker with a large quantity of cannabis. Confirming the arrest, Commandant Prabhat Kumar of the 71st Battalion stated that they received a tip-off and intensified patrolling at the border. During the patrol, at around 3 am, some smugglers had already entered India from Nepal with cannabis near pillar number 377/5.

Successful Arrest and Seizure of Cannabis

As the smugglers tried to flee back to Nepal after throwing away the cannabis upon seeing the SSB jawans and police, the security forces managed to apprehend one of them. A total of 77.500 kilograms of cannabis was recovered from the arrested trafficker. The arrested trafficker was identified as Pappu Paswan, son of Dhruv Paswan, a resident of Gaira village in the Kotwa Thana area of East Champaran.

Further Investigation and Legal Action

Pappu Paswan has been handed over to the Mahuava Thana for further investigation and legal proceedings. The authorities are conducting advance actions against the arrested trafficker and the seized cannabis. The successful operation was a result of coordinated efforts between the SSB jawans and the local police in the border area.
