Stylish Number Plates Could Cost Heavy on Your Pocket
If you are flaunting stylish number plates on your vehicle, beware! Writing any designer word on number plates, like ‘Boss’ or ‘Daddy’, can now lead to heavy fines. A special campaign is being planned to catch such vehicles with unique number plates. For the first time, a penalty will also be imposed on these vehicles.
Strict Actions for Violating Number Plate Rules
If caught a second time, the vehicle will be seized. If the violation continues, the registration will be canceled. According to Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, it is mandatory for all vehicles to have high-security registration plates. Any unauthorized writing on number plates is illegal and strict action will be taken against violators.
Reporting Violations and Getting High-Security Plates
If you notice vehicles with unauthorized number plates, you can inform the control room by dialing 9153971897. You can also send pictures of such vehicles through WhatsApp to the department for immediate action. Only high-security registration plates are allowed on vehicles, which contain specific information besides the vehicle number. New vehicles come with these plates, while older ones can get them installed through the respective dealer.
