Success without Formal Education
Deepak Kumar from Banka district in Bihar has proven that success in business does not always require formal education. Indrajit Singh, a resident of Athma village under Amarpur block, started his own business after years of working outside his village. Despite only being 8th pass, his annual turnover is an impressive 30 crores. He now runs a poultry farm producing eggs in his village.
From Humble Beginnings to Prosperity
Indrajit Singh left his home in 1987 due to financial difficulties and worked in companies in Andhra Pradesh for almost a decade. He then ventured into the egg trading business in Tanku, Andhra Pradesh from 2003. After reaping profits, he returned to his village in 2020 and started a poultry farm on 8 acres of land. His farm now has 60,000 chickens producing 54,000 eggs daily, providing employment to 40 individuals.
Employment and Care for Livestock
Indrajit Singh’s farm team ensures the well-being of the chickens by providing them with modern amenities like feed and water. To protect the chickens from heat, fans and sprinklers are used, and regular veterinary check-ups are conducted to prevent diseases. The cost of raising a chicken is around 80 rupees, but each chicken produces 430-450 eggs in its lifetime, generating an annual turnover of over 30 crores by selling the eggs in local markets and companies.
