Despite facing several failures in the past, Deepak decided to start his own business after unsuccessful attempts at finding employment elsewhere. Taking a loan from the Industry Department, he started a notebook-making venture which turned out to be a profitable business, providing both income and employment opportunities to the youth in his village.
Starting the Notebook-making Business
After struggling to make ends meet while working as a laborer in Delhi, Deepak Kumar Pandit returned to his village with a determination to start his own business. In 2020, he applied for and received a loan of 10 lakhs, which he used to purchase machinery for making notebooks. With the help of training provided by the Industry Department, he successfully set up and ran the notebook-making business, earning an annual income of over five lakhs.
Earning Potential and Impact on the Community
Under the Chief Minister Entrepreneur Scheme, Deepak utilized the loan to produce notebooks that were sold in wholesale markets, generating profits ranging from 42 to 60 rupees per notebook. By providing employment opportunities to the villagers and selling his products in local markets, Deepak not only earned a substantial income but also contributed to the economic growth of the community. His success story serves as an inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs in Banka district, showcasing the rewards of hard work and perseverance.
