A 32-year-old CRPF jawan in Jharkhand’s Chatra district shot himself with his service rifle. An officer confirmed the incident, which took place at a CRPF picket of the 190 battalion in the Vishisht Nagar area. The area is located around 200 km away from the state capital, Ranchi.
Confirming the incident, CRPF Commander Manoj Kumar of the 190 battalion informed the deceased jawan’s family about the incident. The deceased has been identified as Nihal Singh, who was posted as a driver.
Nihal Singh, a resident of Dausa, Rajasthan, had returned from leave on 3rd February. Commander Manoj Kumar mentioned that Nihal Singh joined CRPF in 2015 and became a part of the 190 battalion in 2022. The police have taken the body into custody for post-mortem examination. The reasons for the suicide are currently unknown.
