Golden Victory in Taekwondo

Himanshu Kumar and Rohit Saini from Sheikhpura have won gold and silver medals in the 7th National Cadet Taekwondo Competition, bringing glory to their district. They returned home on Wednesday after securing medals in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and were welcomed with grand celebrations at the local railway station.

National Competition Details

The 7th National Cadet Taekwondo Competition took place from 2nd to 4th August at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Organized by the Taekwondo Federation of India, the competition saw participation from nearly 600 athletes from across the country in the cadet category.

Significance of Taekwondo

Vishwajeet Kumar, Secretary of the District Taekwondo Association, highlighted the importance of Taekwondo not just as a self-defense technique but also as a pathway to employment opportunities. The achievements of Himanshu Kumar and Rohit Saini have brought pride to Sheikhpura district, with two out of four athletes from the district winning medals.

Coach’s Pride and Recognition

The return of the athletes was celebrated at the Sheikhpura railway station, with coach Harsh Ujjwal and national referee Amar Kumar leading the reception. Himanshu Kumar and Rohit Saini’s success in bringing medals to Bihar has showcased their talent and dedication, with Bihar’s Taekwondo team securing significant positions in the championship.



शेखपुरा के ताईक्वांडों खिलाड़ियों में हिमांशु कुमार और रोहित सैनी ने 7वीं राष्ट्रीय कैडेट ताइक्वांडो प्रतियोगिता में स्वर्ण और कांस्य पदक जीता है। इन्होंने जिले का नाम रोशन किया है। उनका स्वागत घर वापसी पर खिलाड़ियों का स्थानीय रेलवे स्टेशन पर भव्य स्वागत किया गया। विशाखापट्टनम में हुई प्रतियोगिता में उन्होंने बिहार को गौरवान्वित किया है। इस प्रतियोगिता में बिहार टीम ने एक स्वर्ण, एक रजत और तीन कांस्य पदक हासिल किए हैं। खिलाड़ियों को बधाई देने के लिए खेल प्रेमियों ने उनका स्वागत किया है।
