Man Attempts Suicide in Police Station Premises
A man named Haider Ali, who was called to the police station on the complaint of his daughter-in-law, attempted suicide in the premises of the station. Haider Ali, a resident of Kushinagar district in Uttar Pradesh, hit his stomach with a chitkini attached to the bathroom door, causing serious injuries. He has been admitted to the Government Medical College for treatment.
Accused of Raping His Own Daughter-in-Law
Haider Ali’s son Hasan Ali got married on April 28 in a village under Bairiya police station. However, the bride returned to her parents’ home after one and a half months of marriage. She alleged that her father-in-law had raped her multiple times. Following this, her relatives filed a complaint against the in-laws in Bettiah court. The court ordered the Bairia police to register an FIR on August 9. The case is currently under investigation.

Despite the court’s order to register the FIR, the police have yet to do so. Haider Ali, upon hearing about the complaint, went to a relative’s house in Baghi Baghbarpur of Bairia. When he visited the police station to gather information, he injured himself in the bathroom. The police station chief, Pranay Kumar, stated that Haider Ali was being questioned at the station and injured himself while using the bathroom. He is currently receiving medical treatment.
