Kartik Purnima is a religious festival celebrated by thousands of devotees at the Baba Faujdari Nath temple in Bihar. The temple caretaker, Ashish Kumar, announced that the temple gates will open at 3:30 am after the government puja, allowing devotees to enter the sanctum sanctorum. Necessary instructions were given to the temple staff to ensure the convenience of the devotees. It is expected that thousands of devotees will offer prayers on this auspicious day.
The festivities for Kartik Purnima began on Sunday with devotees visiting the Basukinath temple in Shivnagar to have the first glimpse of Lord Shiva as soon as the temple gates opened. On the occasion of Kartik Shukla Pradosh, the Vishwanath Seva Samiti organized a grand Ganga Aarti ceremony at the Shivganga ghat in Basukinath. Hundreds of devotees participated in the ceremony, offering diyas made of ghee to the holy river Ganga. Local priests performed the rituals and the ceremony was attended by several prominent individuals from the region.
The Khetori community performed a special Shringar Puja ceremony at the Basukinath temple on the eve of Kartik Purnima. Along with the Ashtajam, Chaupehra, and Satyanarayan Katha, a grand decoration was done for Lord Shiva. The priest, Divakar Jha, recited the Satyanarayan Katha. Prominent individuals, including former legislator Devendra Kunwar, were present at the ceremony. It was mentioned that the religious event has been organized on the occasion of Baikunth Chaturdashi since 78 years ago by the late Parmeshwar Laiak in Garada Amarakhunda. Apart from Ramgarh, Jhama, Jaramundi, and Saraiyahat, hundreds of people from Godda also visited Basukinath. The Ashtajam ceremony was also organized, followed by a community feast.
On the occasion of the founding day, the Prime Minister presented a gift to the Santhal Pargana, announcing the construction of four lanes in Deoghar-Basukinath and Hansdiha-Mahagama.
कार्तिक पूर्णिमा के दिन बाबा फौजदारीनाथ का जलाभिषेक करने के लिए हजारों श्रद्धालुओं की भीड़ की संभावना है। मंदिर प्रभारी ने बताया कि मंदिर का पट साढ़े तीन बजे भोर में खुलेगा और गर्भगृह का पट भक्तों के लिए खोल दिया जायेगा। इस दिन श्रद्धालुओं की जलार्पण की संभावना है। इसके अलावा बासुकिनाथ में शिव भक्तों की पहुंच शुरू हो गयी है ताकि वह मंदिर का पट खुलते ही भोलेनाथ का दर्शन पूजन कर सकें। कार्तिक शुक्ल प्रदोष पर भागलपुर की ओर से बासुकिनाथ में गंगा महाआरती का आयोजन किया गया था जिसमें कई लोग भाग लिए। इसके अलावा खेतोरी समाज के लोगों ने भी कार्तिक पूर्णिमा के दिन बाबा की शृंगार पूजा की और सामूहिक भोज भी किया।
