Threat to Patna Airport
A threat to bomb the Patna Airport was received via email on May 12th, the same day when the Prime Minister was scheduled to arrive in Patna. The email triggered panic, leading to the Bomb Squad team and ATS team conducting thorough checks at the airport.
Police Investigation
The City SP Central, Chandrakant Prakash, mentioned that Google has been contacted to trace the IP address involved in sending the threat email. Once the IP address is identified, further action will be taken by the police. Special units like the Anti-Sabotage Checking and BDDS team were also deployed to investigate the threat.
Details of the Threat
The threatening email to bomb the Patna Airport was sent from countgroup03@beebic.com and was received on the airport’s email ID at 3 PM. This incident occurred just hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Patna. A similar threat was made to the Raj Bhavan in Patna on May 1st, but no suspicious items were found during the investigation.
Continued Investigation
Despite efforts to trace the IP address to a cyber cafe, the identity of the email sender remains unknown. The police are awaiting Google’s response to further proceed with the case. The authorities are taking the threat seriously and are ensuring the safety and security of the Patna Airport.
