Pappu Yadav receives death threats

Pappu Yadav, Member of Parliament from Purnia, has expressed concern for his life as he has been receiving threatening calls from Nepal. The calls openly threaten to kill him, making Pappu Yadav feel unsafe. In a viral Facebook Live video, a person mentioned about threats to Pappu Yadav’s life on July 15th, just before he wrote a letter to Central Home Minister Amit Shah.

Threats Reported to Police

In the letter written to the Buxar police station, Pappu Yadav mentioned being targeted by criminals from Nepal. The criminals openly threatened to kill him. He also mentioned having recordings related to these threats, which have been submitted to the police. Prior to this incident, criminals had entered Sitamarhi with intentions to harm him, but were caught by the police before reaching him.

Security Concerns

Pappu Yadav has demanded increased security from Home Minister Amit Shah, stating that he has always opposed criminal activities. He mentioned that in 2019, the Central Home Ministry reduced his security category from Y Threat to Y category, which did not provide him with adequate security. He expressed concerns about being targeted by criminals, land mafia, medical mafia, and liquor mafia.

Post-Election Threats

After winning the recent general elections from Purnia, Pappu Yadav has been facing open threats. He currently relies on bodyguards for security and feels quite unsafe. As a vocal opponent of criminal activities, he believes that he is a target for criminals and mafia groups.
