A sad road accident happened on Friday near the Dasturpar turn on the Sarmera-Bihta road in the Chandi police station area. An unknown vehicle hit a pickup truck, causing it to flip over into a roadside pit. Sadly, one woman died on the spot, and over 18 others were injured.
The woman who lost her life has been identified as Sanoj Prasad, 55, from Ravio village in Nawada district. She was traveling with her family members who were going to Fatuha for a holy bath in the Ganga after a recent family loss. The driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the tragic accident.
All the injured people were from the same family. They were attending a Brahma Bhoj ceremony and were heading to take a bath in the Ganga. After the accident, many of them were in critical condition and required immediate medical attention.
Local police arrived quickly and helped get the injured out of the vehicle. They were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. Some of the more seriously injured individuals were later referred to Biharsharif Sadar Hospital for better care.
The police have taken the deceased woman’s body for a post-mortem examination. Family members are in deep distress following the incident. The police confirmed that they are providing assistance to the injured and their families during this tough time.
