A tragic road accident happened on Saturday morning, 17 January 2026, in Madhepura, Bihar. The accident took place on National Highway 106, where a car collided head-on with a highway vehicle. Sadly, four people inside the car lost their lives instantly due to the severe impact.

The collision occurred near the Power Grid office and BN Mandal University. Witnesses reported that the car was speeding when it crashed into the highway vehicle. The force of the crash was so strong that the front of the car was completely crumpled, leaving the passengers with no chance of survival.

All four victims died at the scene, and the impact was so severe that their bodies were badly damaged and difficult to identify. Authorities are currently working to identify the deceased, as their identities remain unknown at this time.

The police have taken the bodies to Sadar Hospital Madhepura for a post-mortem examination. Initial investigations suggest that the car had “Masjid Chowk” written on it, hinting that the victims might be from a nearby area.

After the accident, the driver of the highway vehicle fled the scene. The police have secured the area and are actively searching for the driver. Local authorities are also looking into the accident to understand the reasons behind it, raising concerns about road safety on this busy highway.
