This article shares information about train bookings for Holi and the availability of tickets for various routes.

Holi is just around the corner, and people are eager to travel home. It seems that most train seats for the Holi festival have already been booked, even two months in advance. Trains from Delhi to cities like Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ranchi, Patna, Darbhanga, and Jayanagar are mostly fully booked in the sleeper class.

Officials have noted the heavy demand for trains heading towards Bihar and Purvanchal. They are planning to announce special trains soon to help passengers avoid any hassle during this busy travel period. Holi will be celebrated across the country on March 4, and many people will be traveling to their hometowns during this time.

The peak travel days will be between March 1 and March 4, and bookings for these dates opened in January. Most sleeper class seats are already taken, leaving only a few AC seats available in some trains.

For those traveling to Patna, options include the Magadh Express with 40 AC seats available, and the Farakka Express with just 4 AC seats left. However, trains like the Garib Rath Express and the Sampoorna Kranti Express have long waiting lists.

Airfare is also expected to rise during the Holi season. Currently, flight prices to places like Patna, Varanasi, and Prayagraj have increased by up to 10%, with some routes seeing hikes of 20-25%. It’s advisable for passengers to check availability and book their travel soon.

Summary:

  • Most train seats for Holi are already booked.

  • Special trains will be announced for Bihar and Purvanchal.

  • Peak travel days are from March 1 to 4.

  • Limited seats available in some trains heading to Patna.

  • Airfares are likely to increase during the Holi season.
