Triple Drug Therapy Campaign in Samastipur District
In an effort to reduce the spread of filariasis in Samastipur district, a triple drug therapy campaign will be launched from August 10th. The campaign will involve administering Ivermectin, DEC, and Albendazole tablets to benefit around 45 lakh people in the district. A total of 2,174 teams have been formed to distribute the medication.
Special Strategies for Drug Coverage
During a workshop, it was decided that a special strategy will be implemented to ensure 100% coverage of the medication during the mass drug administration campaign starting from August 10th. Government health centers will set up booths to distribute the medication, and a week-long mop-up round will be conducted from August 30th to September 5th to reach all individuals.
Addressing Adverse Effects
Dr. Vijay Kumar emphasized that some individuals may experience adverse effects such as nausea, dizziness, or mild fever after taking the triple drug therapy. However, these effects are common and should not cause concern. Rapid response teams have been established in each block to address any adverse reactions promptly.
Dosage Instructions and Exclusions
Dr. Madhuri Devraj explained the dosage protocols for the medications and highlighted that children under two years, severely ill individuals, and pregnant women should not be given the medication. A dose pole has been created to ensure accurate dosing based on height, and each drug administrator will have access to a rapid response team for immediate assistance.
समस्तीपुर जिले में फाइलेरिया के प्रसार को कम करने के लिए 10 अगस्त से ट्रिपल ड्रग थेरेपी के तहत आइवर मेक्टिन, डीइसी तथा एल्बेंडाजोल की गोली खिलाई जाएगी, जिससे जिले के करीब 45 लाख लोग लाभान्वित होंगे। इस अभियान के दौरान दवा के शत प्रतिशत कवरेज के लिए विशेष रणनीति अपनायी जा रही है। इसके बाद 30 अगस्त से 5 सितम्बर के बीच एक सप्ताह का मॉप-अप राउंड चलाया जाएगा। ड्रग एडमिनिस्ट्रेटर के सामने खानी है दवा और प्रतिकूल प्रभाव पर घबराने की बिल्कुल जरूरत नहीं है। डोज पोल के तहत खानी है दवा और किसे नहीं खानी है दवा के बारे में भी जानकारी दी गई।
