Two cases of suicide have been reported in Bhagalpur, Bihar. In one incident, a man took his own life due to family disputes. His wife had left him and their children to go to Delhi because of frequent arguments at home. Frustrated, the man hanged himself from a ceiling fan on Saturday morning. The incident took place in the Bongu Sahlen area of the Nathnagar police station. The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar Das. The police have taken custody of the body and sent it for postmortem.

The father of the deceased, Ramgopal Das, revealed that his son had gotten married to Pinky Kumari about 20 years ago. Rajkumar used to work as a weaver. However, soon after the wedding, conflicts started to arise between the daughter-in-law and son. There was not a single day without physical fights between them. The daughter-in-law did not like living with her husband and children and would often leave the house. She would leave at around 3 pm every day and return at 8 pm, which was a constant source of arguments. Fifteen days ago, another fight broke out between them, and the daughter-in-law left for Delhi with her grandchildren. Since then, the son had stopped operating his power loom and would spend the whole day crying in memory of his wife and children.

In another incident, a cunning thief attempted to kidnap a student from Mount Carmel School in Patna. When the girl refused to go with him, he was caught. In a suspicious situation, the body of a 11-year-old girl named Jyoti Kumari was found hanging from a noose in Bhagalpur’s Fahetpur village, under the jurisdiction of the Industrial Police Station. There was no one at home at the time of the incident. When Jyoti’s elder brother, Manav Kumar, saw her hanging from the noose, he informed the neighbors. They immediately rushed to help and brought her down from the noose. The incident was reported to the parents, who, along with others, took the girl to the JLNMCH hospital, where she was declared dead. The postmortem will be conducted on Sunday. The police have also been informed about the incident.

Neighbors revealed that the father of the deceased works in Zero Mile and Gunga Devi Barari. Jyoti and her older brother, Manav, used to stay at home. At the time of the incident, Jyoti was alone at home. Witnesses mentioned that there was a table at the scene of the incident, leading to suspicions that the hanging might have been done using the table for support. The police are currently investigating the case. The SHO of the Industrial Police Station stated that the possibility of suicide is being considered, and the relatives are being questioned. Meanwhile, the mother of the deceased and other relatives were in a distressed state at the Mayaganj Hospital.
