What’s inside:

Vaishali Police and Bihar STF have arrested two drug smugglers and seized heroin worth Rs 10 lakh during a recent operation.

In a big operation, the Vaishali Police teamed up with the Bihar STF to crack down on a drug trafficking gang. This took place in the Bidupur area, where they caught two smugglers, including a woman, with 42.18 grams of heroin. The drugs are valued at around Rs 10 lakh, and the police also found cash and train tickets with them.

During a press conference, Sadar SDPO Subodh Kumar shared that the smugglers confessed to bringing heroin from Assam by train. They were part of a larger network that transported drugs from various states to Bihar and then sold them locally. The police are now investigating to identify their supplier in Assam and the person they were supposed to hand over the drugs to in Vaishali.

The police got this information from the Bihar STF in Patna, which led them to set up a trap in Bidupur. Acting on the tips, a special team, which included a magistrate and local police, quickly moved in and caught the smugglers red-handed.

From the arrested smugglers, police seized 42.18 grams of heroin, Rs 1270 in cash, an Aadhar card, and a railway ticket. The smugglers have been identified as Raju Kumar, from Chakwara, and Lalia Devi, from Tersia. Both are residents of different police station areas.

SDPO Subodh Kumar mentioned that a case has been registered against four people in Bidupur police station. The police are now on the lookout for the financier behind this drug operation and other members of the gang who are still at large. They believe that examining the mobile records and further questioning can help uncover a larger smuggling network.
